Worcester Warriors Playing To Use More Players In Hartpury Test

It seems Warriors will use up to 37 players against Hartpury College during their fixture in their first game of the pre-season 2017/18 campaign this Saturday.

The match will start at 4pm.

New signings Peter Stringer, David Denton, Ethan Waller, Simon Kerrod, Pierce Phillips, Tom Howe and Sam Olver are all prepared to feature for the Warriors. The Warriors during their game will be fielding two different teams with the Championship outfit that is newly-promoted.

To start the game, Jack Singleton, Nick Schonert and Ryan Bower, will take the front row on the other hand Phillips and Darren Barry will start in the row two.

GJ Van Velze, who has come back in the team after recovering from a lengthy injury, will take the position in the back row alongside Denton and Sam Lewis.

Tom Heathcote and Luke Baldwin will form the combination of half-back with Wynand Olivier and Jackson Willison in midfield, whereas Ben Howard, Josh Adams and Alex Hearle (Academy youngster) will take the position of the back three.

In the second-half, Matti Williams, Simon Kerrod and Waller will head up the row one, along with Will Spencer and Donncha O’Callaghan who will form the partnership for the second-row.

Dewald Potgieter, Matt Cox and Huw Taylor will cover the back row.

And Jonny Arr, in the back will line up with Olver, whereas Bryce Heem and Will Butler link up in midfield.

The three sets of back Jamie Shillcock, Howe, Dean Hammond are seeking to make their mark in the game, while Stringer is named on the bench.
