The players of Wasps are dominating the scene this year.
Most players have done well are proving it difficult for players of other teams get nominated for the player awards that are doled out end of the season. Billy Vunipola and Maro Itoje were looking forward to be part of the player awards, but it seems that Wasps have dominated most player awards this season.
There have been legendary performances by the Wasps players this season. That included Nathan Hughes, Charles Piute, and George Smith among others. They have all received nominations along with other team players like Andy Goode, who plays fly half of Newcastle and Thomas Waldrom of Exeter team. Waldrom remains the top scorer for the Premiership till date. He won the RPA award for the year 2011. Goode and his coming into the scene from retirement have helped Newcastle to not be relegated this season.
Piutau joined Wasps for a short term. He would be moving onto Ulster to play for that team in the next upcoming season. He has played as one of the full back players in Europe among the games that have occurred this season. Smith and Hughes have also been forward players in the back row who have shown commendable performances. Piutau in particular, has performed outstandingly this season. Other players of Wasps who have been nominated for RPA Young player awards are Harry Thacker of Leicester, Eliot Daly of the same team along with Harry Mallinder of Northampton and Jack Clifford of Harlequins. Wasps team having performed well this season, there is little wonder most players of the team have been nominated for awards in different categories. Though many other teams are complaining, but there is the matter of performance and points accumulated that leading teams always have an advantage over others.
