The 3 strong players from Worcester Warriors namely Huw Taylor, Jack Singleton and Andrew Kitchener have been nominated for England Under 20 squad for World Rugby Championship which will be held in Manchester next month.
The academy players of the Warriors have done an impressive performance earlier this year in the Six Nations campaign for Under 20s. The best performer of the show was Singleton, who played against Italy and Taylor featured 3 times in the European challenge cup campaign. The team of England Under 20s would be facing Australia, Scotland and Italy in Pool B in the World Championship, which includes many players having experience in the Premiership in the 28 man squad.
England has a good record as far as the tournament is concerned. It has successfully reached in 6 finals in the last 8 years. Martin Haag, the head coach expressed his happiness and said that it would be a proud moment for him when the white jersey gets pulled on by the players and run out with joy in front of friends and family in the World Cup. As per reports, the squad would meet on 22nd of May to take part in the training camp in Newcastle. Martin Haag, who was appointed as a coach at the beginning of the year is preparing his team for building a bond so as to ensure that the team plays confidently with an identity of its own.
Haag is geared up to use his squad and highlight their importance in order to keep them feeling fresh and fit during the tournament. The coach believes that as per the format of the game, one cannot expect any player to play for 80 minutes in a game. The players would be chosen to form and the workload will be well managed by the coach. The team would face Italy in Manchester City on the 7th of June and Scotland on 11th of June.
